Local crackhead Mick is a regular on the vicarage doorstep, hoping to appeal to the vicar’s charitable side. If he’s not in need of twenty quid to visit his ‘dying mother’ in Southend – who’s already died three times in the past year – there’s always some other urgent reason he needs cash.
Mick’s far from the sophisticated grifter he thinks he is, but although Adam sees through all his feeble scams he tries to be sympathetic and has a sandwich or frozen pizza on hand to offer instead. Alex has much less patience for people coming to her home to ask for money, as Mick discovers when she answers the door…
